The sides are asymmetrically balanced and how each side views themselves and others are also distinct, giving room to insight on relationships, comradery, and the characters’ pasts.Īside from the plot from the previous episodes having huge holes and contrivances, the script was generally acceptable.
This sets up a lot of potential avenues for the story to explore. Where Sphinx is aloof and slick Five is charismatic and dominating. She seems to only rely on herself and is weak to situations outside her anticipations. She works as a mastermind giving orders and making use of large resources.
By contrast Five operates in a different style. Since they’re a team of two three the boys contribute individual strengths and cover the others’ weaknesses. Sphinx’s strength would seem to be their adaptability: the capacity to respond to changing situations and work out a solution. This sets up some interesting dynamic concerning the strengths of each of the characters. A blend wits, reflexes, and ingenuity is the key here and Sphinx demonstrates it competently. The game itself was an entertaining turn of events. I was drawn in by the amount of detail in some of the scenery and I think production really nails setting and immersion. It makes a great set piece for the clash between Sphinx and Five. The sites of the airport are beautifully translated onscreen. This gives the show an opportunity to show its distinct realistic art style, and it does not falter here. This episode takes place exclusively inside Haneda Airport. There are many things this show does right, many things that it does wrong, and a few decisions which were quite questionable. It is a competently produced set of thrilling scenarios taking place in some wonderfully realized locales of Tokyo. I think that this is the strength of the series. Exciting: not interesting, but exciting and entertaining to watch.
